Our Company

Founded in 2001 by industry veterans Ted Collins, Jr. and George M. Young, Jr., Collins and Young is a privately held, independent company that is active in the exploration, development and production of oil and gas.

We currently own interests in oil and gas drilling operations located in the Barnett Shale in North Texas, the Permian Basin in West Texas, and the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Our proven strategy of acquiring land and partnering with some of the most successful operating companies has allowed us to build a company that is highly regarded throughout the industry. We have participated in more than 300 Barnett Shale wells with operating partners that include: Chesapeake Energy, Chief Oil & Gas, Devon Energy, EOG Resources, Range Resources, and XTO Energy.

Operations

Texas-
In the Barnett Shale, one of the most prolific natural gas fields in the country, Collins and Young has participated in more than 300 wells with the most productive operators in the region. Our current non-operated leasehold in the Barnett is more than 40,000 gross acres. Additionally, Collins and Young controls more than 40,000 gross acres of leasehold interest where it is named operator.

In West Texas, Collins and Young is active in the Permian Basin, a large sedimentary basin reaching from Lubbock to just south of Midland and Odessa and extending west into New Mexico.
